Construction begins

Filed under: General, The Money Pit — Tim @ 7:58 pm

Construction finally began at our house today. We got home to find the footings had been dug, inside and out, and the site prepared for a new concrete slab. They drilled holes into the old slab and epoxied in reiber to tie in the new slab securely. Things are going very nicely… now if it would only stay dry. Rain totals updated

Filed under: General, The Money Pit — Tim @ 5:04 pm

The Chatsworth “rain totals”:http://labrodeurs.org/rain/ page has been updated with contributions from the latest storm. We got another 5 inches in the last 3 days. Sheesh, is it ever going to end?

Sold!

Filed under: General — Tim @ 1:30 pm

Well, it’s official. “Rocketdyne”:http://www.boeing.com/space/rdyne/flash.html/ has been sold by “Boeing”:http://www.boeing.com/ and will soon be part of “UTC”:http://www.utc.com/ which owns “Pratt & Whitney”:http://www.pratt-whitney.com/ . It remains to be seen whether or not this is a good change for us Rocketdyners. Although the benefits at UTC are not as good as those at Boeing, perhaps it will be good for us from a company perspective in the form of new, exciting work. I’ll post more updates when I have news, and how it may affect Meghann and me.

To the Moon

Filed under: General, Site — Tim @ 10:38 am

OK, I figured out how to change ‘Themes’ and we’re back to the old website look. Phew, what a chore. I also updated the chatsworth “rain”:http://labrodeurs.org/rain/ totals. We got 3.1 inches over the last couple days. We probably got a half inch more today, but I haven’t checked the rain gage. Have a great weekend!
