Well, we got a “roof”:http://www.labrodeurs.org/photos/2005-03/Roof/ today, just in time for the rains. It’s supposed to rain tonight, in fact. A good test. The addition is coming along nicely. It’s pretty much enclosed now. The sliding glass doors and the windows are in place. The Walls are all up, and we got the go ahead to shingle the roof from the framing inspector. The only issue is there’s no stucco on the outside, and it’s supposed to rain this weekend. We may get a little wet. Is it supposed to rain this much in southern California?
The electrician was here yesterday and today. Yesterday they goofed up and unhooked our guest bedroom light. We had to haul a lamp in from the garage. That worked out OK, and it’s not a big deal since they fixed it today. They also goofed with the bathroom switches and now the light switch turns the fan on and vice versa. Oh well, easy to fix. Woah! We got home today and our house had a gaping hole in it. We were expecting it it to happen, but it’s still a shock when you walk into your bedroom and it’s part of the out of doors. The worker stripped all the stucco off the outside today, and took out all the windows. Now it’s a serious remodel. We got our slab poured for the addition today. It also poured rain on the poor guys while working. They got the thing all tented up to protect it from stray water while curing.
