Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving

Filed under: General, Baby News — Tim @ 8:56 pm

With Thanksgiving ‘break’ here, we’ve been sooooo busy we didn’t have time to post pictures or update the website. Now that the holiday is winding down it’s time to show you a little of what you missed from the Brodeur family Thanksgiving. These photos are, of course, mostly of Kyle but that’s what you’re looking for anyway, right? We had a very happy holiday and will be sorry to see Grandma and Grandpa C. go back home. Our little house will seem empty when they are gone.

New toy

Filed under: General, Baby News — Tim @ 10:00 pm

Kyle got a new toy last week. It’s one of those saucers with a basket in the middle. He likes it very much. We think he’s already chewed on all the toys surrounding the basket. YUM!

He also got some new food to try. He ate green beans, and he ate some carrots (didn’t like) and he ate butternut squash (YUMMMY). He’s doing super with the ‘big boy’ food. He eats alot and even lets us know when he wants more. Just tonight he was sitting in my lap at the kitchen table. On the table was the box of rice cereal. On the cover of the box is a bowl of yummy rice cereal. He was apparently still hungry because he reached out, multiple times, with his mouth wide open and pushed the rice cereal box over. He was reaching for the bowl on the front! It looks exactly like his gerber bowl. We filled up his bowl with another helping and he happily polished it off. So smart!

Precious Sleep

Filed under: General, Baby News — Tim @ 8:35 pm

Kyle slept all the way through the night on Thursday night and Friday night. It was FABULOUS to get a full night’s sleep, two days in a row. Even though Kyle and Dad slept, I don’t think Mom did. Must be a Mommy thing. Saturday night was not quite as good, but not bad. He ate a big dinner before bed tonight, so hopefully he sleeps all the way through again.

Kyle is also eating his ‘big boy’ food very well. He didn’t like the peas, but we didn’t either so we can’t really blame him. He LOVES his avocado! He’s had that for the last three days, no issues. We’re going to try carrots or squash next. I bet he’ll eat those up.

Kyle’s Dr. Update

Filed under: General, Baby News — Tim @ 7:56 am

Kyle went to the doctor yesterday for his four month checkup. He got four shots in the leg and a clean bill of health.

Stats:
Weight: 16 lbs. 4 oz. (”~80th percentile”:http://www.mybirthcare.com/favorites/babygrowthchart.asp)
Length: 25 inches (”~55th percentile”:http://www.mybirthcare.com/favorites/babygrowthchart.asp)

He’s a big boy. The doctor also said, since he eats so much and is OK with rice cereal we can start him on real people food. I can’t wait to feed him peas and grean beans!

The Water Boy

Filed under: General, Baby News — Tim @ 8:39 pm

For weeks now, Kyle, at dinner, has been looking longingly at our spoons, forks, and drinking glasses as we bring them to our mouths. He’s wanted soooo much to eat and drink like a big boy…. at least that’s what it looked like to us. Well tonight he got his opportunity. He again, longingly followed Dad’s glass of water as it went to my mouth, so we let him have a whirl. He actually did really well, and got a few swigs of Dad’s water down his gullet. Of course more went down his bib than his throat, but for a first try he did AWESOME! Four months old and he already wants to eat like a big boy. He’s also doing very well with the rice cereal and the spoon. We doubled his ‘dose’ tonight and he ate every bit. We couldn’t shovel it in fast enough. He lets you know if it’s not fast enough by letting out a little cry, and opening his mouth wide. It’s really cute. Hopefully two tablespoons of rice cereal will let him sleep a little longer (crosses fingers). Ahhh, they grow so fast.

Of course we took “photos”:http://www.labrodeurs.org/photos/2005-11/water_glass/ of the achievement.
