Well, after months of waiting Kyle is finally taking his first steps.  It happened a few days ago where he took a few tentative steps.  We were all excited, even Kyle.  Tonight he travelled about three feet under his own leg power, multiple times!  He was cruising around his bedroom.  It was too cute.  He’d stand up (to much applause I might add), dance around, take a few steps, then fall down to the ground.  He probably would have done this endlessly, but he finally got tired and quit for the evening.  Sorry, no pics of this but we’ll have the camera at the ready tomorrow.

Kyle had his one year Doctor’s appointment today. Both Kyle and Mommy were traumatized by the experience. Kyle got blood drawn from his arm and three shots in the Leg. Needless to say he howled through the experience. Mommy almost did too. He got a clean bill of health and an OK to eat all the adult food he wants.  Beyond the explainable crying, he was a very good boy. He was himself again once at the car. He promptly passed out on the ride home and slept for two more hours after the car ride. Loooong, well deserved nap. Anyway, here’s what you’ve all been waiting for, the vitals:

Height: 32″ (off the charts, 95+ percentile)

Weight: 21 lbs 4 oz (25th percentile)

He’s already tall and skinny like his Daddy! We were suprised how low his weight is considering how he likes to eat. Speaking of which, he got a special treat for being such a good boy today, orange juice, full strength. YUM!

Kyle had his first birthday yesterday! So far he’s had two parties and he got a load of new toys to play with. What a lucky kid he is! He says two new words since we last reported. Along with ‘hi’ he says ‘Uh oh’ and ‘Eeyore’ (pronounced ‘ee oh’) He says them all the time, not necessarily in the right reference, although he’s pretty good about saying ‘uh oh’ when he drops something. Needless to say we’ve taken A LOT of pictures in the last few days, and it’s been a while since we updated the photo album, so there’s lots of new stuff to see. Here we go, Enjoy!
