We went to Cambria last weekend with our friends Andrea and Ian. They hooked us up with a great little house two blocks from the beach. It had three bedrooms, each with it’s own bathroom. a little kitchen, and a living room with a view.  It was quite nice.  We had a great time at the beach (again for Kyle) and in Cambria. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Kyle had his first beach experience this weekend and he brought his cousin Alyssa along. He was unsure at first, mostly due to the big, very loud waves, but he had fun after Daddy flew him around the sand, waves, and seagulls for a while. He didn’t want to leave!

Kyle also got his first ’shiner’ after the beach. He did a faceplant and scratched up his nose and forehead. It’s not really a shiner, but it looks bad. Good thing kids heal fast. Many more to come, I’m sure.

Last weekend we went to a wedding in Reno.  The wedding was very nice, all about the bride and groom, but the reception was all about Kyle.  He was the entertainment during the toasts.  Having become restless we decided to let him run around during the speeches instead of screaming in Daddy’s lap.  He and Tigger cut the rug on the dance floor, tottled around the carpet, and ‘kaboomed’ (fell) to the floor much to the amusement of the reception’s guests.  He carried on for what seemed like hours.  I think more people were paying attenction to him than the toasts.  What’s a parent to do?
