Stingy Buyers

Filed under: General, The Money Pit — Tim @ 10:19 pm

Our ‘buyers’ had their inspection and there was a minor issue with the interior door into the garage. It is not legal to have a ‘bedroom’ with a door to the garage. We have always used this as a den/office and the only reason it’s listed as a 4th bedroom is because that’s how it’s described by the LA County Assessor, and how it was sold to us. Apparently they think the house is worth less because it’s effectively a 3 bedroom house. I can kinda see where there coming from (not), but they asked for a $25,000 price reduction! We told them to pound sand, so the house will probably fall out of escrow (unless they accept our ‘pound sand’ offer). They can go find a dumpy, small, piece of crap house for $570k, ‘cuz that’s all they’re going to find for that price. They’re losing out on a nice house, and they cost us 10 days of market time and showing to potential buyers. Buh-bye and good riddance, cheapskates.

Pre-C

Filed under: General, Baby News, The Money Pit — Tim @ 9:53 pm

The C stands for Crawling and Chewing. Kyle can now get up on his hands and knees and rock back and forth. He mostly goes backwards when he does get to scooting, but sometimes he goes forward. He’s getting really good at balancing on all fours. It’s only a matter of time before he’s crawling like the wind.

He also has a little white dot of tooth exposed in his lower left gum. Must be a tooth because he didn’t sleep very well last night. We drugged him up with some tylenol tonight, so hopefully he (and us parent types) will sleep a little better.

Here’s a picture of him in action:

woah there big boy

Finishing Touches

Filed under: General, Baby News, The Money Pit — Tim @ 10:12 am

We spent yesterday putting some finishing touches on the nursery and the guest room, hanging puctures and other things. It’s starting to look like a real home in here. It’s been a long time in coming. We’ve been living here nearly three years now, and it’s been a semi-disaster-construction zone the whole time. It’s a welcome change. Too bad there’s still some work left to be done…. but not today.

I had my first Father’s Day today, even though our baby boy is not quite out yet. I got a bunch of cards. Very thoughtful of folks. He is getting closer though. Meghann says he has dropped for sure. He’s lower and pressing down low in her belly. She says it’s somewhat uncomfortable, the first time in here easy-breezy pregnancy. That kid will be here anytime now. We only hope he waits at least a week so Meghann can go to her best friend’s wedding. She’s going to be a sight as the Matron of Honor!

Happy Father’s Day!

Closet, Cradle

Filed under: General, Baby News, The Money Pit — Tim @ 7:55 pm

More progress today, but not as much as we would have liked. We spent a whole bunch of $$ at Lowe’s on closet gear. We decked out the closet with shelves, drawers and bars. Money well spent, we hope. You can see photos by clicking “here”:http://www.labrodeurs.org/photos/2005-06/closet/

We also put together the cradle that Grampa C. built back in 1972 for Dave Cecka and grand kids to follow. There sure are alot of names burned into it now, but there’s plenty of room for more. We can’t wait to add our little baby’s name to the heirloom. Again, you can see photos of the cradle and Meghann by clicking “here”:http://www.labrodeurs.org/photos/2005-06/nursery/
